Certified Peer Specialist 

Recovery Coach

Hospitality Specialist

Certified Peer Specialists work closely with members to provide support for mental health and/or substance use recovery. They engage members, assist with crisis referrals, support problem-solving, and help develop personal goals and life skills. They strengthen and connect members to resources, offer guidance in navigating systems, and provide encouragement to empower individuals on their recovery journey.

In addition, Certified Peer Specialists provide:

  • Relapse prevention support – helping members recognize triggers and develop coping strategies

  • Peer advocacy – assisting members in communicating their needs with providers, family, or community systems

  • Life skill development – supporting skills such as budgeting, housing, and employment navigation

  • Wellness coaching – guidance on self-care, coping strategies, and building resilience

 

Members are welcome to request one-on-one support sessions with a Certified Peer Specialist to receive personalized support, mentorship, and connection to community resources.

Recovery Coaches work side by side with members who may be addicted to alcohol, drugs, or other addictive behaviors, providing guidance and support to help them stay clean and make decisions that lead to success and long-term recovery. They work collaboratively with members to set goals, develop life skills, and navigate the challenges of recovery.

In addition, Recovery Coaches provide:

  • Relapse prevention support – helping members recognize triggers and develop strategies to maintain sobriety

  • Peer mentorship and advocacy – offering guidance, encouragement, and support in communicating needs with providers, family, or community systems

  • Life skill development – supporting skills such as employment, housing, budgeting, and daily living tasks

  • Wellness coaching – guidance on self-care, coping strategies, stress management, and building resilience

  • Resource navigation – connecting members to community resources, treatment programs, and support networks

 

Members are encouraged to request one-on-one sessions with a Recovery Coach to receive personalized support, mentorship, and practical tools for achieving and maintaining recovery.

We have a volunteer on staff every day, and we offer opportunities for anyone interested in giving back to our community.

Volunteers play a vital role in welcoming everyone who walks through our doors and assisting with the daily operations of The Gathering Place. From greeting members to supporting activities and events, their contributions help create a warm, supportive, and safe environment for all.
