Peer Support at The Gathering Place
The Gathering Place is proud to have on staff highly qualified Certified Peer Specialists and Recovery Coaches who provide support both individually and in group settings.

Certified Peer Specialists are individuals with lived experience managing a mental health condition, substance use disorder, or co-occurring disorder and have found recovery. They are formally trained and certified to use their personal experience to guide, support, and empower others on their recovery journey.

Recovery Coaches are trained to support, mentor, and advocate for peers working to overcome addictions to alcohol, drugs, or other addictive behaviors. They offer guidance, encouragement, and practical tools to help individuals achieve and maintain recovery.

We encourage you to connect with one of our staff members. These professionals are invaluable resources and a strong support system on the path to recovery
The Gathering Place offers 11 support groups each week, facilitated by a Certified Peer Specialist or Recovery Coach. These groups are designed to give you a chance to learn and practice valuable skills such as sharing, listening, and empathizing, while also providing opportunities to develop new coping strategies and other tools to support your recovery journey.

Support groups are confidential. We encourage each participant to share what is on their mind, but it is always okay to pass. The number one guideline is: “We will never give up hope!”
