Jump Start Your Day: Begin your day in a positive way. People who struggle with mental illnesses often have a difficult time getting motivated due to lack of energy. Come and get a good start to your day.
Weekend In Review: How was your weekend? A supportive group where through conversation you can reflect on your weekend, share successes, and receive support around any challenges.
SMART Recovery Group: Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART) helps individuals gain independence from addictive problems (involving substances or activities). Our approach incorporates tools based on evidence-based addiction treatments, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
The Wise-Self: A mental health support group focused on increasing awareness of your inner self and connecting with your “wise mind.” Together, we explore emotions, learn to better understand them, and share supportive ways to cope in a safe, judgement-free space.
Beyond Your Diagnosis: Living with a mental health condition can be difficult. There can be many emotions and stigma tied to it. Our brain is an organ, so we live with the symptoms of a PHYSICAL health condition. We are NOT our diagnosis. There is hope and life beyond our diagnosis. Participants will discuss moving forward in their lives.
Down The Rabbit Hole: We look inside ourselves to see how we perceive and process our own positive and negative experiences. Learn how others, who have had similar experiences have viewed and processed their experiences.
Weekend Warriors: The weekend is coming – let’s get ready for it! This group is a space to look ahead at what the weekend might bring, set positive goals, and explore ideas to stay engaged so you can go into your weekend feeling supported and connected.
Relapse Prevention Group (Saturdays): This group provides a supportive space to explore relapse prevention strategies, build coping skills, and strengthen recovery. Using a structured workbook along with open discussion, members will identify triggers, develop personalized plans, and learn practical tools to navigate challenges. Whether you are new to recovery or looking to reinforce your foundation, this group offers connection, encouragement, and skill-building in a peer-supported environment.
Temporarily On-hold - Alternatives 2 Suicide Support Group: This peer led support group offers a space for open conversations about suicidal thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together we share struggles and successes, support one another, and explore coping strategies to navigate life's challenges.
Temporarily On-hold - Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous: Join a discussion on various topics in a safe and trauma-free environment. Learn the basic concepts and principles of an AA meeting. This is an open meeting for those 18 years-of-age and older and for those young at heart.
Educational Sessions Descriptions
SMART Recovery Tools: This class is specific to those with addictive or compulsive behaviors or substance abuse issues that focus solely on the tools SMART Recovery uses in the SMART Recovery workbook. These tools can help people build and maintain motivation; cope with urges; manage thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and live a balanced life. If you missed previous tools, don’t worry, we will cycle back overall of the tools.
Knowledge is Power: We explore different topics to broaden our awareness of the world around us. This is not a support group it is a time of learning. We will have guest speakers, informative videos, as well as different trainings such as Crisis Intervention, Certified Peer Specialists, and local resources.
Mental Health and Life Skills: Taught by Jen Jen, a Mental Health Specialist with Generations and The Gathering Place. This interactive, informative, and fun class focuses on topics based on what the class is interested in learning that day. These topics relate to the world when dealing with mental health disorders and/or addiction recovery. Topics range from learning about actual disorders, coping skills, and skills used in daily living.
